We are excited to announce our first event in our Politics at the Pub Series. On March 29th, we will be hosting MP Rick Perkins for a fun night of politics, snacks and maybe even a drink or two at Buster’s Bar and Grill. Tickets are $25.00 and can be purchased at the link at the bottom of this email. Tickets will include nachos and wings, but not alcohol.
A 40-year contributor to the conservative movement, Rick was recently elected in the 2021 election to represent the South Shore—St. Margarets community of Nova Scotia in parliament. Before joining politics, Rick was a dynamic business leader, founding multiple small businesses and helping to navigate difficult acquisitions. Knowledgeable in the retail business space, Rick has most recently engineered the acquisition of the largest private sector alcohol retailer in Alberta and British Columbia. Rick has also been an active volunteer throughout his career, serving on the boards of the Nova Scotia Liquor Board, the Retail Council of Canada and the Conference Board of Canada.
As a long time leader in our movement, Rick has seen it all: the final years of the PC Party, the merger and creation of our modern party, and our quest to find the right leader in the post-Harper era. On the 29th, Rick will speak to us about the upcoming leadership race, the unique dynamics underpinning this race, and what our new leader will need to do to win the next election. Rick has agreed to end our discussion with a Q&A, so please send in any questions you'd like to see addressed!
